  Great Pizza service was friendly and attentive. The atmosphere was cool and relaxing indoor and outdoor dining. Good variety of tap beers and other beverages. Take away was very popular as well If this info was helpful please like and follow my reviews. Cheers

  Great place to pop in for a drink or go stay for a full meal. Gin flight is amazing value, highly recommend.

  The atmosphere was great in the beginning until I ordered a pizza and asked for a minor extra. The reaction of the service lady was to give me a weird look making me feel bad about my request. Furthermore, she made an inappropriate comment about my friend and me sitting at a table for more people than just the two of us. As a result we felt unwelcome and very awkward.
  
  Finally, I left half of the pizza for later and was asked if I wanted a to-go box. I clearly articulated my answer affirmative, always staying friendly despite the rudeness of the service. Shortly after, a bigger group entered and my friend and me offered to get up and move. We then were advised to move to a separate room, which was freezing as there was inventory stored there.
  
  Finally, we wanted leave and I asked for the pizza left-overs in the box, which I haven’t received yet only to find out that it has been thrown away by the waitress although I asked for it in a to-go-box just two minutes earlier.
  
  I was offered a coffee by one of her colleagues as a compensation, while she joked about the situation with another colleague.
  
  I wish I could leave a better review considering the rest of the staff, which was friendly but I’ve really never experienced anything like that.

  Pros:
  Excellent wood fired pizza - good selection of delicious toppings, thin crust and beautifully fluffy dough edges.
  Gin flight itself was unique according to the person in my party who ordered them (good enough that we bought a bottle to bring home)
  
  Cons:
  Unfortunately the service was very below average tonight. We arrived (no reservation) and asked for a table in which we were directed to the bar. This was originally fine as we had no reservation. However, a table then left (within seconds) and the server then issued that table to customers that arrived after us, rather than offering us the table. This doesn’t sound like a big deal but if you consider the photos attached and our second incident, it makes for a very different experience at the restaurant.
  The tables inside are cleaned regularly as they are within eyesight of the wait staff. Meanwhile, the bar sitting was filthy, sticky (likely from previous spilt drinks), covered in crumbs, dead and alive insects (see photo).
  This then leads to our second incident of the night. One of our party ordered a gin flight and was sitting in the middle of our party of 3 (since we’re on the bar sitting rather than a table). When the gin flights arrived, instead of serving the gin flights over the shoulder of the person who ordered it (ie between me and the person who ordered them), an older female server reached across me whilst I was eating, then I had to move and get out of my seat so she could put the gin flights down. In my opinion, this is very poor waitressing.
  In saying this, one of the younger waitresses was excellent as she offered cutlery and napkins as soon as our food arrived.
  Overall, I have mixed feelings as the food and drink was very good but the service and hygiene was lacking.

  Great quality pizzas and splendid service. Meals came out within 10min which I guess is a good thing but this doesn't seem like the place for lingering. Closed at 8pm on a Friday so get in early (or book) as the pizzas are really worth the effort. Thanks.

About Apollo Bay Distillery

A small boutique distillery, situated on the sea swept entrance to Port Phillip bay. We distill all our spirits in a traditional method using a copper pot still built in Griffith, NSW. Located Underground in an old beer and spirit cellar at the Queenscliff Brewhouse (formally the Esplanade), you can see our still working away from day to day. Our cellar door is open 7 days to try our range of spirits above ground in the “Tastes of the Region” room.

We make 3 core gins. A Dry, Citrus & Navy. Using a sugar base our Gins lean on the sweeter side and use a unique blend of botanicals that set them apart. We hand zest our fruit and botanicals, hand bottle & label, making sure only the best product is put to market.
